Why You Feel Stuck and What It Means | Life Coach Jilly
By Life Coach Jilly — Melbourne
Feeling stuck is one of the most common — and most misunderstood — emotional experiences my clients bring to me. It’s not laziness. It’s not lack of motivation. And it’s definitely not proof you’re “behind.”
Feeling stuck is actually a signal.
A sign that the old version of you is dissolving… and the new version hasn’t fully arrived yet.
This is a powerful moment, even if it feels uncomfortable.
Why You’re Really Feeling Stuck
You’re not stuck because you’re doing something wrong.
You’re stuck because:
You’ve outgrown old habits
Your identity is shifting
You’re craving something deeper
You’ve been running on autopilot
You’re finally ready for change
Stuckness happens when your soul moves faster than your life does.
The Three Types of Stuckness
After coaching hundreds of clients, I’ve noticed there are three kinds of stuck:
1. Mental Stuckness
Overthinking, looping, second-guessing.
Your mind is loud but your intuition is quiet.
2. Emotional Stuckness
Holding onto fear, guilt, or unresolved feelings that block momentum.
3. Alignment Stuckness
You’re moving, but not in the direction your deeper self wants.
Recognising which one you’re in is the start of your breakthrough.
How to Get Unstuck (A Simple 10-Minute Reset)
Here’s a tool I use with my coaching clients:
Step 1: Ask yourself — What am I resisting right now?
Step 2: Ask — What am I craving right now?
Step 3: Ask — What am I afraid will happen if I change?
Step 4: Ask — What is the smallest step toward relief?
You’ll be surprised by how much clarity rises when you pause long enough to hear yourself.
The Truth Most People Avoid
You don’t get stuck because you’re weak.
You get stuck because you’re ready for a new chapter — but you don’t know how to step into it alone.
This is exactly where coaching becomes life-changing.
Ready for Your Next Step?
If you’re sitting in that uncomfortable in-between — not where you were, not yet where you want to be — this is the moment that coaching can shift everything.
You don’t have to find direction by yourself.
You just have to take the first step.
